Farewell and Thanks

Robinvale District Health Services (RDHS) sadly bids farewell to long time employee Janet Pratt on her retirement.

Janet commenced working for Robinvale Hospital in 1989 as a registered nurse (Nursing Sister or Division 1 Nurse in the old terms) on the ward, many people may remember her on night duty. Janet has never treated her employment as a “job”, she has always put in that extra effort. This pursuit of excellence saw Janet accept the challenge of further studies in the year 2000 when she successfully completed an Infection Control course. In 2007 she became a Clinical Support Nurse/Educator to assist staff and students in clinical education. Janet is renowned for assisting wherever she was needed in the organisation, either on the ward, with staff or helping out in the Immunisation sessions. This versatility and willingness to help was greatly appreciated and makes Janet stand out, demonstrating her professional approach to nursing.

RDHS is forever indebted to Janet for her stewardship in setting up Infection Control systems and processes. The practices introduced by Janet ensure we maintain high standards of cleanliness in our facilities and high expectations of our staff. The results at audits and our very low infection rates are a testament to Janet’s leadership in Infection Control.

The Board of Management and all staff extend their best wishes to Janet on her retirement. Whilst we are sad to see Janet leave, we are very happy for her to have more time travelling with husband Bob in the RV and spending more time with family, especially their beautiful grandchildren.

Farewell Janet and thanks for your professionalism and dedication to RDHS.
