Celebrating International Midwifes Day – May 5th
May 5th is the internationally recognised day highlighting and focusing on the works of midwives and midwifery. It is a day that is recognised and celebrated globally, with more than 50 nations observing the day.
In Australia we recognise the International Day of the Midwife and honour the importance of midwives and midwifery.
Robinvale is very fortunate to have the expertise of Vicki providing shared care with (mainly) Mildura Obstetricians (appointments in Robinvale weekly) and the birthing hospitals. Vicki is able to provide ante and post-natal care locally – ensuring many women avoid the need for excessive travel to seek care. Vicki is an accredited Pap-Smear provider and is currently involved in a program that is offering Maternity Bras to pregnant women in need (see photo). Vicki and the visiting Obstetric/GP can also provide contraception and some Gynaecology.
