They then enjoyed the warm fire with some of Local Indigenous Elders, chatting, and enjoying the Johnny cakes, damper and some hot stews that were prepared by the RDHS kitchen staff.
Staff feedback received that the day was a great success and that they enjoyed it and had fun.
Feedback received from staff who attended was that gathering together to celebrate NAIDOC week was good fun and a great success.
Plans have already started in preparation for NAIDOC 2017, and staff are looking forward to joining in again next year.
RDHS staff purchased NAIDOC shirts to wear on the day and wore them with pride.
NAIDOC is a celebration of people coming together, experiencing others cultures and enjoying and tasting different foods, in addition to just having fun and also a good old yarn in a relaxing environment.
