Riverside Residents taken for a Sunday Drive
Residents of Robinvale District Health Services Riverside Campus were taken for a drive to view the river at its then current peak on Sunday 6th November.
Members of the Robinvale Euston Historic Vehicle Club (REHVC) arrived at Riverside at 9am in their club cars and motorbikes.
Residents were a little hesitant to ride on the back of a motorbike; however eight were super keen to get into the cars which included a 1990 Mercedes Benz SL500, 1966 left hand drive Mustang and a 1990 Ford Capri. The drive began by going over the bridge to Euston and then back into Robinvale.
Along Riverside and McLennan Drives, the cars stopped at points to view the river. Many residents remembered the previous high river levels and floods especially in 1956, and were surprised as to how high the river was now.
The drive then continued onto the Lock and then back to Riverside Campus where prepared was a wonderful morning tea for all.
Lorraine Connell, Activity Coordinator said, “The residents really loved the ride and they cannot wait for the next one.” This is not the first time that the REHVC members have visited the residents to take them for a drive and hope to make it an annual event in the future. We thank the members of the REHVC for taking the time to take our residents for activity.
