RDHS has a palliative care home located at the Robinvale Campus–built by locals for locals, giving families a place to stay close by their loved one while our team looks after them at the end of life. Our palliative care home is fully equipped with two large bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, outdoor areas, large living and dining spaces and reflection areas. This beautiful home is attached to the hospital where our staff can care for your loved one and the home easily accessible without having to enter the hospital at all, allowing families and friends 24hr access to visit.

Our unique local combination of a fully dedicated palliative care home, hospital and community nursing teams mean you can move easily between home and hospital as your illness shifts and your journey continues. Choosing to receive palliative care does not mean the end of all treatment. It means making choices about which treatments are important, and which are not.

By combining medical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support, RDHS proudly enable a person to live with dignity, peace and comfort for the duration of their palliative journey. Our care is based upon individual and family needs and can include:

·       Symptom relief

·       Advance Care Planning

·       Emotional and practical support for carers and family

·       Hospital respite

·       Support emotional, social, cultural and spiritual concerns

·       Bereavement
